What is keeping you from buying a house, why are you on the homebuyer’s fence? We are currently in a buyer’s market, which is to say there is a surplus of homes for sale compared to people who are willing to buy.

The Phoenix area is full of foreclosures, short sales, builder’s inventory homes and people looking to just sell for various reasons. That means you have the ability to pick and choose what home is right for you and do so at an affordable price. What makes this news all the more exciting is that interest rates are at an all time low. You can afford your dream home now.

Step 1-You Have To Make A Decision To Buy A Home

I do not know why when we were in a seller’s market not too long ago, people were willing to pay top dollar, even foregoing home inspections, just because they were afraid that they would miss out on buying a home. Now that the buying frenzy is over and the prices of houses have dropped is the best time to buy a home.


Step 2-Get Pre-Qualified For A Home Loan

How much of a home can you afford? Are you worried about qualifying for a loan? The only way you can find out is to ask. Step 3- Choose An Area Of The Phoenix Metropolitan Area To Live In

Where do you want to live? Is it important for you to live close to work, school or activities you enjoy? Would it be ok to travel more to afford a bigger house? The outlying areas of Phoenix like Surprise, Buckeye, and Maricopa to name a few can be more inexpensive places to buy a home. You may have a longer drive ahead of you but the savings may be worth it to you.

Step 4- Search For And Choose Your Home

What type of home is for you? Multiple or single story, how many rooms and bathrooms, size of kitchen, type of flooring, pool or no pool, plus any number of things that you desire. There are so many homes on the market today you can afford to be choosy, you do not have to settle on a home based on price alone. If you wait too long to buy prices will start to go up and available houses will start to go down.

I cannot predict what interest rates will be, but if they fall after you buy your house you can refinance. Right now is the best time to buy a house. Just make the decision to buy, get pre-qualified for a loan, choose an area to live in, and pick out a house.
