Article Editorial Guidelines - Become an Author on GetPreQualified

These guidelines are posted for your benefit as an author and our benefit as the publishing site. Our intent in publishing these guidelines is to help you better understand what we are looking for as publishable content. These Guidelines are part of our Author Terms of Participation Guidelines.

Our service and site is not governed by free speech; we may not publish your article if in our opinion your article does not contribute to our users’ experience and their knowledge.

To ensure the quality of our search engine optimization methods, we may make minor formatting modifications as necessary to publish your content, or if extensive work is necessary we simply will not post your material.

To be published on GetPreQualified.com your article must:

• BE YOUR OWN original work.



• NOT A COPY of someone else's work either from within our site, or from other locations on the Internet. Please don't send us one that only has a few words changed from what we already have. We won't accept it.



• BE A CONTRIBUTION to our users. If you think your article fits our categories, please send it our way. We want your expertise in your area. We also want you to benefit from being associated with our site. Also, you may include tips, strategies, testimonials, case studies, opinions, techniques, conjecture, and predictions.



• NOT BE A SALES PITCH for your product or services. Sales Ads, promotional, advertisement style, and other versions of excessive self promotion will not be published - so please don't sent it to us.



• USE PROPER ENGLISH, GRAMMAR, AND SENTENCE STRUCTURE. Use a spell checker. Every article submitted will be read by a human. If it does not make sense to the editor, the article will not be published. In other words, if your articles are mass produced using some sort of content generation program please read it before we get it to clean it up. If you do not, and the approving editor deems that your article is not written for humans the article will be rejected. We do reserve the right to reject articles with no explanation, but whenever possible constructive feedback will be given. You can remember it this way: if it looks and feels like a duck it probably is a duck.



• FOLLOW SIMPLE RULES OF PUNCTUATION. Again, every article submitted will be read by a human editor. The editor must be able to make sense of your article. Please do not overuse "!" and "…". Please insert only one space after each period, colon, or semi-colon. Periods and other explicatives should be placed inside quotes at the end of your sentences. Only use 3 dots minimum and maximum when writing this: "..." at the end of a sentence or phrase. Also, please do not use "..." in your titles.



• BE FREE OF any pornographic material, sexually oriented material; hard core profanity (this will be at the discretion of the approving editor), expressions of hate or race intolerance, violent professions or threats, advocacy against any individual or group, insulting language, obscene language or images, degrading tones to any sex - sexual orientation - ethnicity - religious groups. Again, the approving editor will have final say on this policy.



• BE FREE OF information on: illicit and unlawful behavior. Slander against any government or religious group worldwide will not be tolerated.



• BE FREE OF any content that: knowingly violates any U.S. or foreign country law; defamatory and libelous language; infringement on the legal rights of others.



• NOT BE a duplicated, but slightly changed, article of previously published articles on GetPreQualified.com. We will not tolerate: "SPARTICLING" - Spam Articling.



• NOT EXCESSIVELY BOLD words or groupings of words. Too much bolding will be removed.



• NOT EXCESSIVELY load or unnaturally load the article's primary keywords/ keyword phrases.

ARTICLE FORMATTING GUIDELINES

We make our formatting guideline recommendations primarily based on our experience, not necessarily from what is written by the SEO gurus who have gone before us. Albeit, our experience has come from trial and error implementation of what SEO gurus have suggested over the years.

• Article Title
  
  Make your title 10 words or less
  
  Include your primary keyword phrase in the first half of the title (see below for keyword phrase selection tips)
  
  ex: Cincinnati Real Estate - Is It Hot Or Not? (this is a good title)
  
  ex: Is Cincinnati Real Estate Hot or Not? (this is not as good)
  
  Do not include URL's or your name in your title



• Article Summary
  
  Include your keyword phrase at the beginning of your summary.
  
  Make this section readable by a human being. Do not fill this section with just keywords.
  
  The summary should not be any longer than 50 words.



• Article Body
  
  Article length should not exceed 2500 words. The ideal length is in the range of 650 -750 words.
  
  Do not try to do too much with an article. In other words, convey a point maybe 2 and stop.
  
  Center the theme of the article around your main keyword phrase.
  
  You may have 1-2 links to your website if you have one. Please provide this information in the body of your article.
  
  Please highlight or bold the keywords in your articles so that we know what want highlighted.



• Keyword Phrases instead of keywords
  
  When you plan an article pick out a keyword phrase that you want to promote. In most cases, one word keywords just don't cut it anymore. There is too much competition and huge marketing budgets already standing in line for most one work keywords in the subject matter that GetPreQualified.com encompasses. But when you combine one word keywords with other words to make a phrase you are able to better compete for the reader's click.

  Keep your keyword phrases in the range of 2-6 words.
  
  Example of a bad keyword title:

  Please provide a keyword or keyword phrase list with up to 20 keyword phrases with your article submission. We will use these keywords to publish your article.



• Article Subtitles or Sub Headings
  
  The way we present our articles is not exactly the way you were probably taught in English Composition. We set the format of our articles so that a reader can skim down the article to get a sense of the details of the article. With this in mind, we use sub headings to make major thought transitions between some paragraphs.
  
  Suggestion: You may want to include more keywords and keyword phrases in your sub headings. Think of writing your sub headers in the same fashion as you do with your main article title.



• Introductory and Summary Paragraphs
  
  Please include an introductory and summary paragraph for the article.



• Article Image
  
  Please provide an image to be included with your article. See examples on GetPreQualified.com of images. Make sure that you have reprint rights to the images if you send them. One place to get photos for your articles is
istockphoto.com.
